Pathways Offering eLearning on Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA)

Pathways has always been known for our great work with custom built elearning for every one of our clients, customized to their branding, style, and needs. But with many companies feeling squeezed by the COVID-19 crisis, many potential new clients won’t be able to afford our custom services.

In light of these developments, we have decided to start producing ready made, off-the-shelf courses that are easier on your time and resource budgets! We will still be producing our premium elearning courses for our clients who need the extra customization, but for clients who just need a quick fix for now, we will be able to provide for them as well in the near future.

We will be making our first elearning about compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA). The goal of the AODA is to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for people with disabilities, and make our province accessible to all people at all ability levels by 2025. Part of this initiative requires that businesses and nonprofits with more than 20 employees to submit an annual compliance report.

Many companies who were going to implement their AODA compliance training this year might have chosen to put it off due to complications with the current situation, or haven’t yet been able to upscale their classroom training to online learning.

In addition to training on what the AODA is, its Standards and Regulations, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and how your company needs to think about accessibility, we will also include short scenarios on client-facing interactions with people with disabilities.

Once we make this available, we can help these organizations with their accessibility training at a time where it’s critical that all organizations should be providing more support and accessibility for our disabled citizens.

Of course, any organizations that wish to use this off-the-shelf elearning will still be able to add customization or organization specific content to the level that is possible for them. Just contact us to discuss what we can do!
