ONE WEIRD TRICK TO WORK AROUND THE STORYLINE ELEARNING TRANSLATION EXPORT BUG
Storyline is a powerful eLearning authoring tool, but there are occasional bugs that might hold up your eLearning creation. One of these is a continuing problem with generating the translation document so you can have your eLearning converted into another language. For a lot of people, a blank error box pops up as soon before the progress bar even starts.
There is one workaround I have found that seems to be very effective. 1. Open Internet Explorer. Yes, even if it isn’t your main browser. 2. Select the Tools menu, or the Tools gear icon. 3. Select Internet Options from the pulldown. 4. Select the Advanced tab from the Internet Options window, it’s the last one on the right. 5. Select the Reset… button at the bottom of the window under Reset Internet Explorer settings. 6. Check the Delete personal settings box, then select Reset. 7. You will get a new window, showing 4 items being checked off as they’re reset. Close the window when they’re done. 8. Close all windows when that’s done. 9. Restart your computer.
After all that, exporting translation documents is no longer a problem! I don’t know how or why this works, but it does.
